Andover Township

Andover Township is in Sussex County, New Jersey, and it has a population of around 6,319 people and a total area of around 20.79 square miles, .75 of that being water. Andover Township was created on April 11, 1864, when it was incorporated into a township by the act of the New Jersey Legislature. The township was made up of portions of Newton Township, which was split on that date and dissolved. Portions were taken to form Fredon Township and Andover Borough. Parts of the township were ceded to Newton Town in 1869 and 1927.
